Warm Audio WA-84-C-N Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone
This WA-84 microphone comes with a cardioid capsule, shock mount, microphone clip, pop cover and storage case. It is a small diaphragm condenser microphone based on classic microphone circuits. The WA-84 is a completely discreet Class A design that uses a CineMag USA transformer, polystyrene and Wima capacitors and a Fairchild FET. Designed for professional studio, home studio, live and broadcast applications, the WA-84 sounds great on a variety of instruments and sources such as; acoustic / electric guitars, acoustic / electric bass, drums, piano, strings, brass and woodwinds and a range of other sources.
Big sound, small size
The WA-84 has a very BIG sound due to its small size and uniquely uses a heavy nickel CineMag transformer in its signal path to heat up and MAGNIFY sound sources. Small diaphragm condenser microphones have made a large-scale transition to transformerless technology in recent years due to ease of design and less costly manufacturing process. When designing the WA-84 it was decided to go a step further and tackle a more boutique design known for its crystal clear, yet smooth, BIG sound.
Boutique tone
It utilizes large core transformer technology (CineMag USA) in a small diaphragm condenser microphone package. The result is a circuit that sounds beautiful and goes a step further in terms of signal integrity and smooth boutique tone.
The capsule
The WA-84 uses a custom vintage-style capsule designed to mimic classic components and design techniques. The WA-84 capsule has been meticulously crafted by an Australian capsule supplier and accurately reproduced to vintage specifications. With such a high-quality capsule in this microphone it is possible to check the sound of the most important part of any microphone.
