Designed to offer the best of vintage micsUnfortunately for many studio owners, those “classic condensers” are often not what they used to be. Whether a certain mic’s design has changed over the years, or time has just taken its toll, many of the mics that were once so versatile are showing their age. Enter the sE 4400a! The 4400a contains back-to-back brass-ringed capsules, hand-tuned by sE’s technicians. And its brand-new design ensures great performance for years to come.
A ton of control options for versatilityJust because a microphone can pickup anything doesn’t mean it was intended to. But the sE 4400a was designed from the ground up to sound terrific on almost any sound source out there. Taking cues from some well-known vintage European condensers, sE’s whole priority was to offer you a microphone with enough options to be as at home working from a whisper to a scream. You have your choice of four polar patterns, two bass cuts, and two pads. This mic will tune to you.
A shockmount as incredible as the micIt’s not often a microphone’s shockmount is as exciting as the mic itself. But that is the case with the sE 4400a. The flat, round-edged chassis design and custom suspension mount allow the mic to be centered within the shock, flipped around and used flat against a drum head or guitar cab, or angled outwards and pushed through inside of a kick drum. And at less than 3/4″ thick, it fits neatly in the palm of your hand. But it’s also built to take a beating on the road. Well played sE.
